Important Updates Regarding US Shipping, Customs Duties, and Logistics

Dear Mat Metrics Community,

To provide a more seamless experience for our US-based customers, we are implementing important changes to our shipping and customs procedures, effective January 1, 2026.

1. Transition to DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Shipping

U.S. Customs policies have recently undergone significant changes. To protect our customers from unexpected "surprise" bills from couriers or additional administrative fees after a purchase, Mat Metrics is switching to DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping.

Under this model, all tariffs are paid upfront by us before the package crosses the border. This is a vital change because, under new regulations, tariffs are charged the moment a package enters the U.S. and cannot be refunded even if a package is returned. By paying these fees upfront, we ensure your delivery is not held at the border and that you face no further charges upon receipt.

Shared Cost Initiative: The new tariffs represent approximately 1/3 of the product value. To keep our mats accessible, Mat Metrics will cover 50% of these tariffs for you. The remaining 50% will be included in a flat-rate shipping fee at checkout:

  • Front Row Only: $85 CAD ($40 shipping + $45 duty share)
  • Full Set (2 Rows): $100 CAD ($40 shipping + $60 duty share)
  • Full Set with 3rd Row: $110 CAD ($40 shipping + $70 duty share)

Note: If the final tariff exceeds 1/3 of the price, Mat Metrics will cover the additional cost entirely.

2. Production vs. Shipping Timelines

We value your time and have heard your feedback regarding recent shipping delays. We want to be as transparent as possible regarding what we can control:

Mat Metrics Guarantee: We guarantee that your custom order will be manufactured and handed over to the courier within 3 business days.

Courier Delivery: Once the package leaves our workshop, the duration of the transit is entirely in the hands of the courier (UPS, FedEx, etc.). Current logistics data shows that many couriers are experiencing delays, and packages may not always arrive by the initial estimated date.

Tracking Your Order: Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email. We kindly ask that you check the courier’s website directly for the most up-to-date information on your delivery status, as we do not have control over the package once it is in their network.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we adapt our operations to provide you with the highest quality product and the most transparent service possible.

Warmly,

The Mat Metrics Team
